SeaBuckthorn - King of the Superfruits

It takes a hardy plant to live and propagate in the extreme mountain environment of China, Russia and India. One plant that thrives in this harsh mountainous region is the seabuckthorn plant with its brilliant orange berries.

The extraordinary seabuckthorn is the focus of over 180 published health studies and has been used for its nutritional and healing properties for thousands of years in may different civilizations. Scientific studies have shown the nutrient profile of the seabuckthorn berry to include over 190 bio active compounds rich in flavones, lipids and fatty acids. Although these nutrients are not uncommon by themselves, it is rare to find all of them in a single natural fruit. Appropriately, the scientific term for seabuckthorn, Hippophae Rhamnoides, means "shiny horse".
